The August print edition is available from Five Ashes Inn, Five Ashes Village Hall, Heal's Farm Shop, The Shopping Basket, Pink Cabbage, Leppard's Butchers, St. Dunstan's Pharmacy, Mace, and now also from the Hospice in the Weald shop & Mayfield Post Office.
This latest edition deals in detail with the contentious issue of a proposed telephone mast in South Street car park. The newsletter editorial outlines the facts; there is an article by MASST, the village group opposing the mast; a letter to residents from Waldon Telecom, who are applying to put up the mast; and notes from the Parish Council discussions on the subject. So all in all, a wealth of information and views to help us all make up our own minds about this important topic. As well as this, there is report on Mayfield Fire Station, highlighting the outstanding work that they do, and recollections from Win Hemsley of her 100 years living in Mayfield. Plus, of course, all the normal updates from the local churches, schools, clubs and societies as well as advertisements for local services and products..
