MCC Update – May 2024
With the first stage (design) of the two stage procurement now fully underway meetings with the main contractor (Baxall Construction) and their architect have been held together with site visits. These, together with the design brief and prior feedback on the design to the architects will enable the final basic design to be produced and it should be available in early May 2024. At this point there will be a cost review to double check that the build cost is still within budget. Following this work it should be possible to share the design information with the parish.
Baxall has published the first issue of a timeline which currently forecasts completion in December 2025.
An Employers Agent (EA) & Quantity Surveyor (QS) have now been contracted who will be the day-to-day interface between the contractor and the purchasers and will advise on numerous things such as the validity of invoices etc.
The necessary legal documentation continues to be refined by the lawyers but is expected to be finalised shortly.
Additional funding opportunities continue to be pursued.
The parish council is keen that the design should be as ‘eco-friendly’ as possible and a statement of green credentials has been produced. (See below)
Further information can be found on the village Facebook site and the Mayfield and Five Ashes Parish Council website www.mayfieldfiveashes.org.uk, as it becomes available.
