Update for January 2021

The last couple of months have involved detailed negotiations with a view to finalising an agreement with Wealden District Council whereby they would fund the Health Centre element of the project. They would also use their greater resources for the project management and other professional resources at their disposal.

The parish council has also had to seek legal advice and also advice from professional surveyors.

The final document is known as a Memorandum of Agreement and provides the basis on which WDC and the parish council will work together on the project.

We are delighted to advise that a resolution was passed at the parish council meeting on 14^th December 2020 to approve the Memorandum of Agreement which gives the official go ahead for the project.

2021 will therefore see a commencement of the upfront activity including particularly the appointment of an architect who will produce various design options. These will be shared with the parish via a public consultation and villagers can state their preferred design. Planning permission will then be sought, followed by an award of the construction contract. Completion is anticipated in Q1 2023.
