Dame Emma Kirkby to perform at Mayfield Festival

The world-renowned soprano, Dame Emma Kirkby, will be performing in concert at St. Dunstan’s Church, Mayfield on Saturday 30th September 2023 at 7.30pm. During her 40-year career she has been internationally acclaimed as one of the foremost sopranos of the modern era, has performed on over 100 recordings and in 2011 she was awarded the Queen’s Medal for Music.

The event has been organised by the Director of Music at St. Dunstan’s Church, Jack Gonzalez-Harding, with support from the Mayfield Festival and in this concert Dame Emma will be performing Handel’s Nine German Arias alongside works by Dowland and Bach. She will be joined by four exciting musicians of international standard: Jack Gonzalez-Harding himself on the harpsichord, Julia Bishop (of Red Priest fame) on the violin, cellist Catherine Rimer and flautist Daniel Swani.

Opportunities to attend events of this calibre outside of the major music venues do not come along that often so this is a concert that is not to be missed.

Ticket Prices: £25 (centre), £10 (side), Free: age 25 and under.

Bar: There will be a bar serving wine and soft drinks both before the concert and at the interval. This will be on the South Side, just inside the South door by the Glubb Window.
