There has been a report of theft from a family’s post box in Five Ashes. Information has been received that a van driver wearing a high vis jacket, who parks up and pretends to litter pick, has been taking the mail out of the post box, opening bank accounts then returning to steal the cards, then PIN numbers over a succession of days. It can be presumed that multiple post boxes in the area will have been targeted. So, if you have a post box rather than a letterbox in your front door, please ensure it is locked at all times and that the key is not stored in the lock – or you could be the next victim!
