We welcome two new Councillors to the Parish Council. At the June Full Parish Meeting Julie Upton and Jonathan Nash were co-opted, Jonathan as a councillor for Five Ashes Ward and Julie representing Mayfield Ward. This now means the PC is up to its full strength of 15.
Jonathan is married with 3 young children and has lived and worked in Wealden all his life. He is keen to continue the work on improving road safety through Five Ashes village especially within the vicinity of the school and also has particular interest in the environment.
“I would really like to have a positive impact on the local community and I believe that being part of the Parish Council would allow me to do this”
Julie is retiring from teaching this summer and is keen to ‘give something back to the community’. She has lived in the village for over twenty years and feels her experience gained in running departments, implementing presentations, writing development plans, managing budgets and communication skills will stand her in good stead.
“Most importantly I would like to be part of a team that cares about the community and the local environment and strive to make ‘just’ improvements and stable decisions that have a positive impact in a rapidly changing world”
We welcome them both to the PC and hope their time will be both a rewarding and positive experience.
